VACANCY NOTICE

CITIZEN’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR THE
CENTRAL MARKET STREET AND TENDERLOIN AREA

 Replaces All Previous Notices

 

Notice is hereby given of the following vacancies and term expirations (in bold), appointed by the Board of Supervisors:

 

Seat 1, Eva Pirring, term expired, must represent low-income families who lives with his or her family in the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area or Adjacent Area, for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending August 2, 2019.

 

Seat 2, Peter Masiak, term expired, must have expertise in job creation and/or workforce development (either seat 2 or seat 3 must be a member who represents labor), for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending August 2, 2021.

 

Seat 3, Steven Suzuki, term expired, must have expertise in job creation and/or workforce development (either seat 2 or seat 3 must be a member who represents labor), for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending August 2, 2019.

 

Vacant Seat 4, succeeding John Bogacki, resigned, must be a senior or disabled resident of the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area or Adjacent Area, for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending August 2, 2019.

 

Seat 5, Brad Paul, term expiring August 2, 2019, must have expertise in affordable housing or tenant protection and anti-displacement policies and strategies, and have familiarity with the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area, for a four-year term.

 

Seat 6, Sam (Sarah) Dennison, term expired, must represent a community-based organization or provide direct services to the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area or adjacent area, for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending August 2, 2021.  

 

Seat 7, Julian Dash, term expired, must have small business expertise and familiarity with the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area, for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending August 2, 2021. 

 

Seat 8, Rob Gitin, term expired, must have expertise on homelessness, transitional age youth, or supportive housing and familiarity with the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area or in District 6, bounded on the southern side by 13^th Street and Townsend Street bounded, for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending August 2, 2021.

 

Vacant seat 9, succeeding Mara Blitzer, resigned, must have expertise in commercial real estate and leasing within the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area, for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending August 2, 2019.      

 

Seat 10, Antoinette Stadlman, term expiring August 2, 2019, must be a resident of the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area or Adjacent Area (District 6, bounded on the southern side 13^th Street and Townsend Street), for a four-year term.

 

Seat 11, Stephen Tennis, term expired, must be a resident of the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area or Adjacent Area (District 6, bounded on the southern side 13^th Street and Townsend Street), for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending August 2, 2021. 

 

Prohibitions:  During the twelve months prior to and during a member’s tenure on the Citizen’s Advisory Committee, no member may receive any “gift,” “income” or have any “investment” in any entity that foreseeably may be subject to or be the beneficiary of any Community Benefit Agreement reviewed by the Citizen’s Advisory Committee.   “Income,” “gift,” and “investment” shall have the same meanings as defined under California Government Code, Sections 81000, et seq. (Political Reform Act of 1974).

 

Report:  The Committee shall submit a report to the Board of Supervisors every six months regarding the implementation and execution of the Community Benefit Agreements called for under the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area Payroll Expense Tax Exclusion.

 

Sunset Date:  The operation of this Committee shall expire upon expiration of the Central Market Street and Tenderloin Area Payroll Expense Tax Exclusion under Business and Tax Regulations Code, Article 12-A, Section 906.3, on the 8^th anniversary date of the effective date of the section, on November 10, 2021.

Next Steps:  Applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be contacted by the Rules Committee Clerk once the Rules Committee Chair determines the date of the hearing.  Members of the Rules Committee will consider the appointment(s) at the meeting and applicant(s) may be asked to state their qualifications.  The appointment(s) of individual(s) who are recommended by the Rules Committee will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
