1. Call to Order and Roll Call

The meeting was called to order at 5:04 pm. Commissioners present: Edelhart, Wu, Berliner; Commissioners absent: Cardenas; Staff present: Adele Failes-Carpenter. There was quorum.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)

Commissioner Wu, seconded by Commissioner Edelhart, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

Commissioner Wu, seconded by Commissioner Edelhart, moved to approve the minutes. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda (Discussion Only)

There was none.

5. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)

A. Review SFPD priorities

Commissioner Wu shared updates from a recent meeting with police commissioner Suzy Loftus. Commissioner Loftus confirmed that Chief Suhr is willing to attend a demonstration of policing the teen brain. Committee members opted to invite other youth advocates to their May 12th committee meeting to review the curriculum. There was no public comment.

B. Review plan for committee contributions to commission’s annual budget and policy priorities

Commissioner Edelhart shared the plan for the presentation of the budget and policy priorities. Commissioners Edelhart and Cardenas will present on behalf of the committee. There was no public comment.

C. Review other committee priorities

Commissioner Edelhart shared the sheriff would present on the new jail visiting policy May 18th. There was no public comment.

Staff shared programmatic updates.

There was none.
