B. Debrief last full YC meeting/Mid-Year Retreat

Commissioners commented that this retreat felt shorter and less content heavy than the orientation retreat, but there wasn’t a noticeable difference. They preferred a shorter retreat day. While the atmosphere of the retreat was welcoming and playful, at times commissioners didn’t feel productive.

The committee suggested staff include a workshop on the language of a resolution into future retreats—addressing phrasing, content, and the order of whereas clauses. The committee will consider doing a presentation to the full Youth Commission on resolution writing.
