1. Call to Order and Roll Call


The meeting was called to order at 5:13 pm. Commissioners present: Galeano, Pating, Mansori; Commissioners absente: Calderon; Staff present: Adele Failes-Carpenter; There was quorum.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)


Commissioner Pating, seconded by Commissioner Mansori, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

A. Review Updates from meeting with Center for Youth Wellness

Commissioner Galeano shared updates from the recent meeting with Center for Youth Wellness and agreed to follow up to receive updates on the pilot ACEs training for SFPD.

B. Prepare for upcoming meeting with JPD

All committee members were interested in attending a meeting with Chief Nance, if available and asked staff to follow up. There was no public comment.

C. Review updates from SFPD use of force review and community meetings

Commissioner Mansori gave updates from recent community listening sessions with DOJ and the youth police sessions by HRC and Mo Magic. He explained that there was a lot of anger and calls for greater accountability in the sessions. There was no public comment.

D. Review 2014-15 budget and policy priorities and discuss updates for May presentation to Board of Supervisors

Committee members reviewed past budget and policy priorities and discussed relevant updates from 2014-15.

Diego Aguilar, a SF State student, introduced himself to the committee. There was no further public comment.

7. Executive Committee Report


There were no updates.

8. Staff Report


Staff shared updates on upcoming community meetings related to SFPD and updated the committee that Board of Education passed a resolution in support of students with incarcerated parents. There was no public comment.
