BICYCLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Replaces All Previous Notices


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following vacancies:

Vacant seat 1, succeeding Kevin Dole, term expiring on November 19, 2014, must be a nominee of the District 1 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.

Vacant seat 2, succeeding Richard Tilles, resigned, must be a nominee of the District 2 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.

Vacant seat 3, succeeding Marc Brandt, term expiring on November 19, 2014, must be a nominee of the District 3 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.

Vacant seat 4, succeeding Edward Nicolson, term expiring on November 19, 2014, must be a nominee of the District 4 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.

Vacant seat 5, Morgan Fitzgibbons, term expiring on November 19, 2014, must be a nominee of the District 5 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.

Vacant seat 6, succeeding Richard May, term expired, must be a nominee of the District 6 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.

Vacant seat 7, succeeding Elbert Hill, term expiring on November 19, 2014, must be a nominee of the District 7 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.

Vacant seat 8, succeeding Timothy Doherty, term expiring on November 19, 2014, must be a nominee of the District 8 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.


Vacant seat 9, succeeding Amar Puri, term expiring on November 19, 2014, must be a nominee of the District 9 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.

Vacant seat 10, succeeding Micah Allen, term expiring on November 19, 2014, must be a nominee of the District 10 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.

Vacant seat 11, succeeding Casey Allen, term expiring on November 19, 2014, must be a nominee of the District 11 Supervisor, to serve a two-year term ending November 19, 2016, or for the tenure of the nominating Supervisor, whichever is shorter in duration.

Reports: The Bicycle Advisory Committee shall: 1) develop a plan for bicycle-related improvements and make recommendations to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA), San Francisco County Transportation Authority (CTA), and Board of Supervisors on related funding from local, state, and federal agencies; 2) review policies and programs related to bicycling in the Transportation Element of the Master Plan and make recommendations to the Planning Commission on the goals and implementation; 3) develop a plan for education and outreach to the public to promote the safe sharing of public roadways and submit the plan to the MTA and CTA; and 4) establish rules and regulations for its own organization and procedures.

All applicants must be residents of San Francisco, unless otherwise stated.

Next Steps: Applicants who are nominated by a District Supervisor and meet minimum qualifications will be contacted by the Rules Committee Clerk once the Rules Committee Chair determines the date of the hearing. Members of the Rules Committee will consider the appointment(s) at the meeting and applicant(s) may be asked to state their qualifications. The appointment(s) of individual(s) who are recommended by the Rules Committee will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
